April

Dear Carla and everyone at Tails of Hope, April is such a joy and has truly helped my heart heal after the loss of my Tiny. She goes crazy when she plays and runs back and forth through the hall. She is an ear and toe nibbler and gets very excited when she makes us laugh or we run from her. She loves to go for rides in the car, but she does get cranky if she does not get her daily nap. We recently went on vacation to Lexington, VA and, of course, all 4 dogs (and the cat) came with us. She did so well for her first time in a hotel, we were very proud of her. I am attaching a picture of Eric with all the dogs at Natural Bridge, VA. She had a hard time keeping up, so she rode in the stroller most of the way. She knew she was a queen that day! Thanks again so much for allowing us to have April and give her all the love she deserves. By the way, her nickname is Sugarsnap, she answered to it the first time I said it to her! Stacie and Eric

Binky

We wanted to give you an update on Dobby (aka Binky). He is doing great and has become such a wonderful addition to our family. He quickly became a "momma’s boy"! Dobby and our other dog Bandit are getting along great. They have started to play and even sleep on the couch together. He is definitely a lap dog and loves to sit with Mike on the sofa. We ventured out to the doggie park and he had a blast chasing Bandit and some of the other puppies. Thanks again for everything!

Coco

Just a quick note to tell you how much we LOVE Coco and how happy we are she’s in our family. She is a joy to have – everyone loves her and she loves everyone. We truly feel like she was meant to be with us. She has settled in nicely and her cute little personality comes out more each day. She also has very good manners and is as good as gold. So, thank you for choosing us and thank you for all you do for these animals. Fondly, Jeannie, Jeff and Coco Cameron

Pumpkin

When my girlfriend and I started looking for companions, we stumbled upon the Tails of Hope website and noticed a few doggie candidates. When I applied, I received a friendly and prompt response letting me know which dogs were still available. My interest turned to Pumpkin. He had numerous pictures and according to his bio, sounded like the perfect dog for us. His foster mom was very helpful and accessible in answering all of my questions. The adoption process was thorough yet timely as it was very organized and well managed. Upon approval, I went to pick up our new little friend and knew it was a perfect match at first sight. He ran up to me and immediately rolled over with his tongue hanging out. He is so full of energy and love, I cannot believe how lucky we are for this to have worked out. Pumpkin sits with us, fetches and is actually house trained (we are so thankful). He walks well on a leash and has a "big dog" attitude - which makes us laugh. He is quite the TV critic (as his foster mother told us) but quickly quiets down when we say his name. Pumpkin has adapted perfectly to his new home and it feels as if he has been with us for years. We are truly a success story and are thankful for everyone who made this adoption possible. I tell him constantly that he "is a good boy" but he is much more than that. As a new member of our family, we are thrilled to share our story with all other potential adopters. - Evan and Erin

Muffin

Hi! I wanted to give you all an update on the wonderful furbaby we adopted from you. This is the probably a story you have heard from me before. I lost my best friend, my mom, on September 30, 2006. In October, I began the search for a female shih tzu on whom I could lavish all my excess attention and love and also to be a little girlfriend to our our shih tzu, Princess Mighty Dog. In February 2007, I saw Muffin's adorable face in my email (I was registered through Petfinder) and it spoke to me. I immediately went through your process for adoption and thankfully I was approved. I picked up Muffin on March 19, 2007! I have to tell you, had it not been for Muffin and Princess Mighty Dog, I might still be in "mourning". I thank God everyday for these beautiful babies. Muffin (nicknamed lovingly Muffy Vanderdog (sounds very royal don't you think) is such a joy to be around. She is my little velcro dog and has also brought out so many of the qualities in Princess Mighty Dog that we enjoy. I have attached some pictures you are welcome to use and if you need any information concerning Muffin for your site, just let me know. I think she was a co-listing for Angel of the Hills if memory serves me correctly. Muffin is the black and white one. The images which are 4 on a page were all taken on the days immediately after we got her from you. thank you again for this little darling (who is now 16lbs) and will be celebrating her 5th birthday in September. With love and gratitude Sharon McDowell & family
