Save Lives = Spay/Neuter your Pet
While finding forever homes for animals is extremely rewarding and is what Tails of Hope does, we are also passionate advocates for spaying and neutering these and all pets.
ToH believes that adoption is a solution to the problem of having too many animals in shelters, but knows that adoption will not end the problem.
The cycle begins with unwanted litters. Did you know that starting with one female dog having a litter of 4, 2 of which are females, by the 7th year, there is a potential of 4,372 offspring? Animals multiply faster than there are households to care for them. The result is obvious.
Five million pets are euthanized every year just because they have no home. ToH believes that keeping animals out of shelters by the sheer act of preventing more births is the best solution.

Let’s not let them be born just to die.
SPAY/NEUTER PETS!
- 70,000 puppies and kittens are born every day in the U.S.
- Between 4 million and 6 million pets are euthanized every year because they are homeless.
- That means between 11,000 and 16,000 pets are euthanized every day simply because they are homeless.
- An animal in a shelter is killed every 1.5 seconds.
Please spay and neuter your pets!
