It was Friday, October 13th, 2006. A mom cat had been abandoned in her home alone to give birth to her kittens. There was a loud knock at the door, then when no one answered, several people burst in ready to do an eviction. The mom cat was so startled at all of the commotion that she, relying only on her instincts, bolted out of the door. There was no effort made to find her. No one knew what to do with these tiny, just born babies who still had their umbilical cords attached. They were brought into the local animal control shelter where it was determined that without a mom cat, these kittens would immediately need someone to take care of them or they would die. You see, newborn kittens without their mom need to be bottle fed a special kitten formula every two hours around the clock. Fortunately, a staff member agreed to take them home. The kittens were then released to Tails of Hope and are still being fostered by the same foster mom who has had them since birth. It is hard to believe that these little rolley polleys were once the size of their foster mom's thumb. Their names are Gibbs, a white with brown tabby male, Danica, a brown tabby with orange female, and Mia, a white with brown tabby female. These kittens are extremely sweet, lovable, and very people oriented. They start purring the minute they see their humans and sound like little car engines. They would love to either be adopted together, or if single, only to a home with another young cat or kitten for companionship. Before adoption they will be up to date on all vaccines, tested for Feline Leukemia, FIV, wormed, microchipped, and spay/neutered.
