Velma is a wonderful little girl who is very happy and excited to be free from the shelter! Despite her "senior" status, she is very active and loves to run and play. She especially loves friendly dogs who want to have fun too. Velma also likes cats but they don't typically want to play like she does. Velma has been through a lot in life but her spirit was not broken! She was diagnosed with mammary cancer; the tumors were removed but one of them was malignant and the late detection may have stolen some years from this little girl. While the vets were checking to make sure the cancer hadn't spread, they found four small spots on her chest x-rays which they believe are BBs. We don't know who hurt Velma or why, but we are happy that she is safe now and will never have to be afraid or neglected again.
