Friday night, April 7th was a cold and stormy night. It rained continuously the entire night. The lady of the house thought that she heard faint meowing, but could not find the source. She remembered that on March 29th a mother cat had given birth on her deck, then moved the kittens to an unknown location. On the morning of April 8th, the lady again heard the meows. She looked everywhere, and finally found 5 tiny kittens in a flowerpot where the mother cat had moved them, thinking that they were safe. Two of the kittens had died, and the remaining three were in poor condition. Thankfully, she brought them into the Howard County Animal Control shelter. (The mom was never found) Since the kittens were so young, and also since they were not in very good condition after being out in the rain all night, a staff member took them home to foster. They were cold to the touch, had runny noses, and eye infections. Their foster mom kept them warm and encouraged them to eat their formula. Now, they are 8 weeks old, fat and sassy, very sweet and affectionate, and are ready to be adopted into loving homes. When adopting a kitten, please consider adopting two together or it would be great if there were already a young cat in the home to play with. THESE KITTENS ARE NOT WITH TAILS OF HOPE. THEY ARE AT THE HOWARD COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL SHELTER. PLEASE CALL 410-313-2780 ext. "0" for hours and information, or email the contact listed above.
