Denver is both a great dog and a valuable family member! He is the perfect companion for anyone with love to share. He is a Golden Retriever/ Border Collie mix and possesses the best of both breeds, being affectionate, gentle, and accepting with people and kids, and playful and energetic with other dogs. Because of his Collie heritage he is smaller than a purebred Retriever (standing just over 2 ft to his shoulder) but possesses the latter’s handsome coat.
Everyone he meets is his new best friend, and if Denver is in your home you are guaranteed a loving welcome on your return! He loves to be petted, snuggled, and walked! He's house trained, listens well, is great with kids, and is good when left alone for short periods (he has never chewed anything except his own toys and simply sleeps when left alone).
He has a lot of energy and enjoys long walks, although in the heat of the day he will let you know when he has gone too far. He has a beautiful long coat that might require brushing if he has been out in the mud or playing with other dogs, or otherwise we brush him about once-a-week.

Denver got to spend a couple of days in doggie daycare and had a great time playing with the other dogs, however his enthusiasm to play is similar to that of a puppy and he can annoy older or less active dogs with repeated demands to play. Although he is obedient when told “no” he can get excited and can easily jump over a 3-4 ft fence especially if he sees his owner or another appreciative person on the other side. He has not yet learnt to retrieve but his enthusiasm to please should make him easy to train.
If you are searching for a dog who will be a faithful and loving companion then look no further because Denver is looking for you!
