UPDATE: 11/28 Maddie started limping on and off esp while playing with other larger dogs. We took her to the vet and she was xrayed and she does have bilateral hip dysplasia. She has seen 2 vets but the limping is not from the dyplasia but the vet thinks that she is growing to quickly and her connective tissue, the ligaments are not keeping up. This happens in large breed puppies. Basically this is like growing pains and does resolve itself as the dog gets older. Some dogs have no problems with the dysplasia and this limping is not from that. At this point there really isn't any treatment except to feed her adult food so she doesn't grow as quickly and I have her on glucosamine for the joints. Does this stop Maddie ? OF COURSE NOT !! She runs and plays with the other dogs in the home, loves the water, fetching balls and sticks and chasing birds. She is hesitant on steps and it may take her a little longer to get up and down from chairs until she catches up. She is just a very wonderful little girl.

Maddie hasn't had any submissive urination. She hasn't had any accidents and is doing great . She is a lovable, affectionate little sweetheart. She listens very well and stays close to you. She loves to run and play with other puppies. Usually she likes to do the chasing ( maybe the Border Collie ?) She sits on command for treats and usually comes when called. She is just a sweetheart. Soft, black coat a little longer than a labs. Maddie is in PA approx 20 miles N of York. Everyone that meets her just loves her.

Maddie is HERE and what a doll. She is adorable. She has some submissive urination...we figure she may have been yelled at. She does very well with houstraining with a few accidents. She knows how to sit and comes to you when called. She has jumped up a few times but seems to remember herself and stops. She loves to run and play, likes water and is just a sweetheart. She is still a little mouthy but very minimal. LOTS of energy and loves to run. Loves to play with other dogs and would love to have a sister or brother. Just a real cutie pie !! Maddie is being fostered in PA. NO phone calls....email only !! altnurs@aol.com

Special Needs: Maddie was given up by a family and is in foster care. She is one of the sweetest little girls you ever met. Her foster mom just loves her. However, she started limping and needed to see a vet. Tails of Hope paid for her vet care and after expensive xrays and vet visits, she was diagnosed with bilateral hip dysplasia. Tails of Hope helps many dogs and puppies......this is of course expensive...usually the adoption fee does not cover the vet bills. If you thought of helping a rescue but can't foster or volunteer...DONATE !! SPONSOR !! Sponsor a dog and help with their vet care. Donate money to help with vet care, training, or food for the animals.
