Description:

Jackie is a sweet little hound mix that is gentle, loving, housebroken, She is good with all other dogs and cats.... and she is good with children BUT we will not place her with young children. Jackie is currently learning that people will not take her food and bones, but young children are not mentally equipped to be able to leave a dog alone when eating or working on a special treat. Jackie is a true gem and would be a wonderful addition. Perhaps you will be the one with whom she will finally fall in love for ever and ever. It is a treat to watch it happen with a dog once they begin to trust.

UPDATE ON JACKIE; Jackie is so cute! We had a kind of breakthrough today, of sorts.Jackie is a very easy keeper, but tends to be aloof. She gets along with the other dogs, but only occasionally will one interest her enough for her to engage in play. She likes my 13 year old girl, Lucky and they often share a bed. Jackie is always well behaved for me, but has never really seemed to bond, if that makes sense. This has been my number one concern for her "adoptability" wise. Anyhow, this evening I was bringing my last guys in for the night and I have this feral dog, Thomas...feral as in after a YEAR he will finally let me approach him in the yard and put a leash on him...anyway, he kenneled on command and I sat down on the floor to "congratulate" him. Suddenly, Jackie's tail started wagging a mile a minute and she came bustling over and squished her whole body in my lap. She has always been indifferent to affection, so it was just this happy, joyful side of her that I hadn't seen before. It was great! I am not sure what suddenly changed her mind, but I like it! Anyway, I wanted to share that silly little update with you. It made my day.
